About

Who is Shay Spivey?

Shay Spivey is a social worker, author, and leading expert on scholarships and free financial aid. She graduated with honor and distinction from the Indiana University School of Social Work with a BSW and MSW. She returned to college as a non-traditional, single parent, an adult student in her thirties with two children, and a dream to become the first person in her family to graduate.

Unable to afford any more student loan debt, Shay worked hard to apply for and win $100,000 in scholarships and free financial aid to pay for her college education. With her assistance, Shay’s oldest daughter was awarded $950,000 in scholarships and free financial aid and graduated from a globally recognized university debt-free. Her youngest daughter is on a full-ride scholarship at the college of her choice as well (amount to be disclosed after she graduates). Together, her household has been awarded more than a million dollars in free financial aid.

Shay has been teaching others how to access college scholarships and free financial aid since 2009. She has helped countless other students and parents secure millions of dollars in financial assistance over the years. Shay Spivey is the author of How to Submit a Winning Scholarship Application: Secret Techniques I Used to Win $100,000 in College Scholarships (2014).

Scholarship Success Center

In 2014, Shay Spivey started the Scholarship Advisor Program and developed a host of free classes and workshops that educated students and their families about how to win scholarships. She partnered with schools, organizations, and programs to provide this valuable service to the community.

We are pleased to announce that we are rebranding. In 2022, the Scholarship Advisor Program has now evolved into the Scholarship Success Center with a bigger vision and greater purpose.

The Scholarship Success Center is your resource for college scholarships and free financial aid information. The mission of the Scholarship Success Center remains to increase equal access, enrollment, and retention of underrepresented students in colleges and universities.
